Primary nasal & pharyneal tuberculosis is very rare. 17 year old female came to ENT department complaining crusting in the nose, epistaxis & slight nasal obstruction for about one and half year.
On nasal examination, ulceration and granulation with crusting are noted on the inferior turbinate, ala nasi, epipharynx and tonsillar pillar, more severe on the left side. Chest Xray was negative, Mantoux test: Positive, ESR is 42mm.
Biopsy from the nose showed caseous epitheloid granuloma consistent with tuberculosis on histopathological examination. She was much improved after antituberculous medication for about 2 month.
